Anxiety is a normal part of life, in fact, you are biologically wired for it. Anxiety can actually be helpful as it motivates you to prepare for what life throws at you and to help you move forward.

But too much anxiety is a hinderance!

And too much anxiety can be tough to live with.

Anxiety can end up controlling your day and preventing you from doing the things you love.

Your thoughts become consumed with worry and fear.

Your mind is a pro at overanalyzing situations. Playing out every possible scenario.  And without missing a beat you forecast the worst possible situation.

You struggle to face new situations, you don't like uncertainty, and want to plan for all possible outcomes.

When you are overthinking its draining and exhausting, making it easy for you to feel irritable, agitated, and moody

As much as you want to spend time with your family and friends, you cancel plans at the last minute because your mind is racing and it feels too exhausting to go.

When you are able to muster up the energy to spend time with others, you need to know all the details ahead of time to be fully prepared for what lies ahead. And seeking reassurance from others about anxious situations makes you feel better

Sometimes avoiding daily tasks and shutting down is easier than dealing with life. And sometimes avoiding the people or places that you love is way easier than handling the anxiety itself.

Anxiety is uncomfortable, you feel it in your body ... your heart races, your chest is tight, your muscles are tense, its hard to catch your breath.

But anxiety doesn't have to be in control and rule your life. There's specific ways to respond to your anxiety without giving in to the worry and helping you get back to the things you love.

Symptoms of Anxiety

Anxiety and depression are the fastest growing diagnoses in Canada.

Anxiety has become such a normal part of our lives, that people often are unsure of what is normal and what should require therapy.  Listed below are some common symptoms of anxiety, but everyone experiences anxiety differently.

  • Emotional symptoms such as feeling uneasy, irritable, fearful, agitated, restless, panic, feeling out of control

  • Mental signs such as constant worrying and racing thoughts

  • Spiritual such as not taking the time to breath, slow down, or do things that you enjoy doing

Therapy Can Help Anxiety

You don't have to keep avoiding the things that you love because of your anxiety. The longer your anxiety goes untreated, the worse your anxiety becomes over time.

When you work with a trained clinical psychologist that specializes in anxiety, counselling can help!

Just as everyone's anxiety symptoms are different. Therapy is different for everyone as well. Anxiety treatment is not a one size fits all kinda deal.

In therapy will work together to get a better understanding of your anxiety ... the roots of your anxity, how anxiety is preventing you from doing the things that bring you joy, and how you've been coping beneath the surface.

Counselling will help you to understand how anxiety takes control of your days.

What triggers your anxiety. Your mindset about anxiety. How your body manifests anxiety.

We will help you become unstuck, find new ways to manage your anxiety, and get you back to enjoying the moments that you have been missing.

You are strong, resilient, and ready to go forward.

Let's get you back to feeling calm and content.
